Safety Team Application

OUR HEART & MISSION
The Safety Team exists to help create a safe, welcoming environment where people can worship freely and encounter God without distraction or fear.
Safety ministry is not simply about response — it is about presence, awareness, discernment, preparation, and love. Team members are called to remain vigilant while responding with wisdom, humility, restraint, and the love of Christ.
Family always comes before ministry. Saying “yes” to serving often means saying “no” elsewhere, and healthy priorities are essential. You are not expected to serve every opportunity, but when you commit, you are expected to serve with excellence, integrity, accountability, and a servant’s heart.

SAFETY TEAM PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure the well-being of our congregation, staff, and ministries, Family Church seeks consistent coverage and intentional preparedness. Safety Team members are expected to assess environments through the lens of prevention rather than reaction, while remaining approachable, calm, and nonjudgmental.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring entrances and vulnerable areas
  • Supporting the safety of children, congregation, staff, and pastors
  • Identifying, communicating, and helping de-escalate potential concerns
  • Assisting with medical situations and coordination of care
  • Supporting evacuation, lockdown, or shelter procedures when directed
  • Maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Assisting with dignitary presence and special events
Livestream services and public gatherings may increase visibility and risk, making preparation, communication, and structure essential. Many situations can and should be addressed before escalation or entry occurs.

AVAILABILITY, ARRIVAL & TRAINING COMMITMENT
Family Church currently holds one Sunday service at 10:00am, with additional ministry events scheduled as needed.
Safety Team members are expected to arrive by 8:30am on Sundays, unless otherwise specified by the Safety Team Leader or church leadership. Early arrival ensures preparation, communication, and proper coverage before doors are opened.
